Transition Towns Kaitaia is part of a vibrant, international grassroots movement that brings people together to explore how Kaitaia – as a community – can respond to the environmental, economic and social challenges arising from climate change, resource depletion and an economy based on growth.

Transition Towns Kaitaia doesn’t look for anyone to blame, but believes the community of Kaitaia has it within itself to innovate and to create positive solutions to the converging crises of our time. By building local resilience, Kaitaia will be able to collectively respond to whatever the future may bring in a calm, positive and creative way.

Transition Towns Kaitaia gets together every second Friday of the month to discuss subjects like peak oil, sustainability, climate change, food security, permaculture, alternative currency and energy.
