Crafty Mondays are from 1-3pm at the EcoCentre on the first Monday of the month February – December unless that falls on a public holiday, in which case it is the following week.
We started off in mid 2017 holding workshops covering a range of skills that help you you create your own products to enable a more sustainable lifestyle. The sessions are a mixture of demonstrations, with unlimited places and koha entry, and workshops where booking is essential and a fee of at around $5 is payable.
Starting with rag rugging in 2017 we also had sessions making beeswax wraps, lip balm and moisturisers, knitting or crocheting dishcloths and making no-sew bags out of t-shirts and singlets.
2018 kicked off with soap making, and also on the programme for the year is crocheting hats and mats from plastic bags, making firelighters, felting, and sewing menstrual pads, pantiliners etc. We’re putting together the programme for the second half of the year, so do let us know if there is a skill you’d like to share or learn!
